A group of wizards, sorcerers, artificers and general scholars who oversee all matters arcane
The Arcane Congress is a group of magically adept individuals who work to advance the study and use of magic across Khorvaire.
When Galifar was united, they were seen as a counterbalance to the Dragonmarked Houses, advising the crown on matters arcane, and acting as a check on the power of the Dragonmarked Houses.
Despite their focus being on the study and development of magic, the Arcane Congress are formidable spellcasters, and many of them participated in the last war, assisting Aundair's The Knights Arcane with magical support and in some cases, with more direct means.
They are based in the floating city of Arcanix in Aundair.
